What is Datto?
Simply put, Datto is a Remote Monitoring & Management (RMM) solution, used by IT to better support you.
What does Datto do?
Datto will be replacing TeamViewer as our solution to quickly help you when you are not able to meet in person by allowing us to do remote support. Datto also offers many other support benefits, such as helping manage and monitor updates on your computer to help ensure that everyone has the latest security patches.
How will Datto impact you?
There are two primary ways that Datto will impact you:
Remote support
When you need remote support, we will now be able to offer it more easily than TeamViewer. You won't need to locate or activate the program, or provide a connection ID or passkey.
Updates and security
Once Datto is active, it will help you better stay up to date. And if your computer is behind on updates, you will receive prompts that alert you to needed updates. You will have the ability to defer the updates, however, if the computer becomes too far out of date to the point of being out of compliance with our security requirements, there may be restrictions placed upon the device depending on the severity in order to keep our organization safe and secure.
When is this happening?
We have pushed the client onto everyone's machine remotely. Installation was silent.
