Technology Use

Technology use at the Santa Cruz COE is essential for day-to-day operations. From using the phone system to sending emails and developing a presentation to be displayed in a meeting room, technology will be priority. All employees and regular users or Santa Cruz COE technology resources are required to anually acknowledge their understanding of the Electronic Device and Technology Responsible Use Agreement. Please review!

However, the Body is still an important location to describe the issue, with as many details as you feel are relevant.

Accounts

You begin with a Microsoft Active Directory account and will then have a Google account with the same email address and password. Depending upon your role, you may also be given account in other services such as Escape, PowerSchool, and/or SEIS.

Sharing Resources

Once you are signed into your Santa Cruz COE account you will have access to shared files and folders.

Use File Stream to access Google Cloud files right from your desktop!

Phones

NOTE: Your voicemail messages will be sent as Gmail audio file attachments. You will need speakers or headphones to hear the messages. FYI: You CANNOT listen to voicemail directly on an office phone.

If you need to reset your PIN and setup a Voice Greeting, then you can call your phone remotely to make the changes.

  • Dial your full number, eg. 831-466-5600

    1. Press the * key

    2. Enter your pin (the Tech Team will setup your initial PIN as: 2468, which you change on first sign on)

    3. Once signed in, follow the auto-attendant prompts to setup your voicemail.

E-Waste disposal - you may bring small items and any Santa Cruz COE retired assets to the Tech Hut. If no one is available, then please leave with the MO Department labeled for Tech+.

Managers

Make sure to request any special staff tech needs, especially Shared Folders (staff will be made a member of his/her/their division shared folder by default)

Instructional staff

Make sure you check in with your supervisor and your department coordinator for any special classroom needs. The tech staff will try to accommodate your requests in a seamless and timely manner!
