English Language Arts

The information on this page was created before Kristen joined the team.  Please visit the Reading with Relevance Everything page for our most current English resources.

Alternative Education teachers provide rich, relevant and student-centric instruction in English Language Arts.  Students must earn 30 English credits to satisfy graduation requirements.  Our core ELA program includes several components, including standard English I, II and III course curriculum, novels, vocabulary acquisition, BrightThinker customized learning and texts, or Accelerate Education credit recovery courses. ELA Novels include common themed selection from Reading With Relevance and Character-Based Literacy. We have novels and materials available so let us know what you need!

We offer English curriculum using BrightThinker Learning Management System, which can be used both synchronously and asynchronously, in or out of the classroom.  We also offer courses with Accelerate Education, which are generally recommended for online credit recovery. In addition, we have curated many multi-media websites to add to create a cross-curricular learning experience. Click on the links below to utilize some of the available online applications. You may also select the Curated Resources image to access Alternative Education Teacher-vetted resources, lessons and activities.
